Prayer is frustrating. We all feel like we need to do it, but we don’t know how. Are we supposed to hear something? Are we supposed to talk the whole time? What’s the whole point anyway?

Prayer is the way we communicate and commune with God. It’s not all words, but it’s a heart directed toward God. This series explores several key Bible passages on prayer – from the prayers of Israel in the Old Testament to the prayers of the Psalmist to the prayers of Jesus.

It also looks at the practical side of prayer. We don’t only want to talk about prayer, but we want to learn to practice prayer! Join us for LORD, TEACH US TO PRAY, a series where we look to move from being frustrated with prayer to finding freedom in a life of prayer!

Church outside? Yep! Big pot luck to follow? I think so! BYOOYG (Bring Your Own Outdoor Yard Games)? Yes!

Join us Sunday, June 3rd for CHURCH ON THE LAWN

We’ll have a worship service at the normal time (10:30 a.m.) with a slightly different flavor. We’ll worship together as a family – so the kids will be joining us too!

Following the service we’ll hold a big outdoor potluck – sign-up sheets will be posted in the lobby so you can tell us what magnificent dish you’ll bring (to share!). After the potluck we’ll have some organized activities for all ages (kids to seniors)…and if none of those suit your fancy there will be some pick up games as well!

Every so often it’s time to take inventory – to check the direction we’re headed and to ask God if that’s where He wants us to go. As a faith community this year (2012) this is what we’re doing. We’re getting together, sharing, discussing, praying, and discerning – intentionally asking: “God, how have you gifted us as a church family to serve our community and the world around us?”

We’re on THE MISSION ROAD. We haven’t arrived (nor will we ever!), but we are asking God how he might want to use our church family at this time in our existence. We do this with excitement – but at the same time knowing what God has for us will challenge and stretch us in new ways.

Participants begin the night with a brief time looking at what the Bible says to them with leader, Justin Ruhl.   Then they play some serious B-Ball.  Join us!  You won’t want to forget Bible B4 Basketball!
