DNA is powerful because it gives it identity. When churches are tapped into their identity – the unique ways God has gifted and wired them – great things happen!

Over the course of this year we’ll look to Discover LBIC. The goal is to understand and articulate who we are as a church and have this understanding shape what we do in the future.

The first step in doing this is sharing together through Discover LBIC Groups. In these groups we will be asking questions and sharing insight into our church’s history as well as insight into our own passions for ministry and Kingdom work. Everyone has impressions and something to bring to the table, so don’t worry if you’ve only been here a short time. We want to hear from you too! Plus, getting together like this will continue to build relationships in our church family. Sign ups are up now in the lobby!

Where: Dinner is held in the Family Life Center (Gym)

Donation is $4 – single; $7 – couple; $10 – family

When:  Each Wednesday evening, February 1 – March 21

6 pm. – dinner;    6:45 – 7:50 pm. classes for all ages.

What: Dinner followed by classes for ALL age groups.

ADULT CLASSES

DISCOVER LBIC

We will ask strategic questions to uncover the DNA of LBIC. Each group will meet for 3 weeks to share and give input.  A second group will begin Feb. 22, 2012.   Each LBIC adult is encouraged to join one of the three groups led by Pastor Josh (please sign up on Lobby bulletin board).

Goal:  The working premise is each church is unique in its history, makeup, and gifts. Not all churches are the same.  Each church has a unique DNA or code. When they operate according to that code they function well, however when they operate against that code or are unaware of the code the church works against itself.

“Fellowship Hour” An unstructured time when any adult may join others in the Fellowship Hall to catch up on life, discuss how God is working in your life, perhaps pray together and have a cup of coffee!

God designed humans a certain way – to be in relationship with each other and with God. What we experience today is a fracture of relationship with God and each other. While this is what we experience this isn’t what we have to experience. God created us in the beginning as a family, and while we all experience the dysfunctions of our biological families it doesn’t mean we give up on it. In fact, God wants us to redeem the family concept – desiring his church to be a spiritual family, welcoming the vagabond home! If you have baggage with your earthly family don’t worry. We all do. However, like all things we believe God is making us new through our brothers, sisters, moms, and dads in the family of the church. This series looks to challenge and form our understanding of the church as a spiritual family – also giving hope to us who’ve been wounded by our earthly families. There is another way than we experience…come find it with us. Welcome Home!

Participants begin the night with a brief time looking at what the Bible says to them with leader, Justin Ruhl.   Then they play some serious B-Ball.  Join us!  You won’t want to forget Bible B4 Basketball!

Here and Now… There and Then  – A lecture series on Revelation

Beth says about this study, “Its hopeful purpose is to increase worship, anticipation, and yes, fear of God in willing hearts and to light a fire in our spirits to study Revelation in greater depth.”

All ladies are welcome to come to this study.  There is no childcare though.  We will watch Beth’s DVD and discuss what we have learned.  From the start of the book in Revelation 1:3 it states, “Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.”

Bible B4 Basketball

Pick-up basketball is open to all community members of any skill level.  The group meets Monday nights 7:30 – 9 pm.  This is a great way to fellowship with athletes in the Manheim Township/ Lancaster  area while getting a workout.

Men’s Over 30 Basketball

Over 30 Basketball is at 7pm in the gym each Thursday.  Join others over 30 years of age and play basketball at your pace.

Volleyball

Community open-court Volleyball is held each Tuesday evening from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm in the gym. Two full-size courts are open to players of all levels.
